About
Revised November 2009 (I have posted the the original About as a comment below)
When I started this blog I was Entity’s student for the Real Life:Microlimit Grinder series on DeucesCracked, which continued for three very successful seasons (season one is linked above, here are seasons two and three). Initially my goal was to chronicle my progress on this blog, and also share some thoughts on being a student. Within a year things have changed pretty drastically. I have ‘graduated’ and am now coaching (see my biography and my video list).
In some respects my goals for this blog remain unchanged. I believe my time as both a student and a coach lends me insight into the coaching process as well as the student/mentor relationship. Moreover, my various experiences have given me an expanded perspective on being a poker player, and how that should fit into a healthy, happy life. It is to this latter end that most of my recent thought has been directed. Poker is not my life. It is a tool I use to enhance the quality of my life.

Hello. I am going to sign up for one of your coaching sessions, but was hoping to get a chance to speak with you, either via email or skype or phone prior to. I put some comments when I inquired about the coaching that I’m not sure if you got or not. Anyway, my email is posted, and I could get you my cell if necessary. Thanks, and I hope to hear from you. I have a lot of respect for what you’ve done and am trying to accomplish something similar, and hopefully you can help with that. -Jeremy

Original About page:
So I was browsing around one day and I thought, ‘you know what the internet needs?’ Another blog. And about poker? How unique!
But I do believe this blog will be different from others. Most of you know me as PygmyHero from DeucesCracked, and if you’ve ever seen a PygmyHero online (on a poker site, on 2+2, etc.), chances are it’s me.
Since early 2008 I’ve been receiving coaching from Entity, and we have recorded and published videos of those sessions on DeucesCracked under the series title Real Life: Microlimit Grinder. When we began I was playing $0.50/$1 Limit Hold ‘Em. As we near the end of 2008 I have progressed to the mid stakes.
As we continue the RLMG process I hope to use this blog to chronicle my progress and to share some insight into poker with a likely focus on the teacher-student relationship.
